Evaluation of Presentation

 
This is the presentation that I gave today. I tried to keep it engaging by speaking the information rather than reading from slides and I feel that this gave me more interaction with the audience. They wrote in the feedback that they noticed and liked this.  I spoke about everything I wanted to cover, and that included all that I'd learned, for example the brutal aspect of the bullfight or the masculine stereotypes. I also explained my reasons for choosing this topic and why I wanted to develop my skills by doing an EPQ, and feel that I conveyed this well. 
When asked questions at the end of the presentation, I answered thoroughly and believe that these answers satisfied the audience. I think that is thanks to the attatchment I have developed to this subject area; I now feel very strongly about this debate, even though I never thought I would. 
The feedback I gained from my peers and teachers was also very useful, and they said that the level of content I had in my powerpoint was good. They also noted the way that I spoke to a non specialist audience, and my explanation of the sport was detailed. 
While I think that my confidence was my biggest weakness, I overcame this and remained calm. I believe that this has helped me for the future as I will no longer have as much anxiety about speaking infront of people.

"From Bullfights to Football Games" (Study)

  A Revolt of the Masses: Culture and Modernity in Early 20th Century Spain: From Bullfights to Football Games (ku.dk)    This dissertation that I found compares the way bullfighting and football have contributed to the "process of modernisation and globalsation in Spain"(Andersen, 2017, page 1).  I think it will be helpful to see  and compare to what extent bullfighting has impacted the globalisation or modernisation of Spain, especially against the sport of football since this is one of the most famous and popular sports in Spain as well as around the world. Also, gaining a sense of peoples tastes overtime will be useful.  Firstly, this study acknowledges that culture is "a pattern of behavior and tradidition," (Andersen, 2017, page 2). Progress Review

 I feel that my progress is going well. I have recently looked into bullfighting and tourism and successfully compared bullfighting to football, as well as found information from various animal rights groups. I think that I am fulfilling my original objective of improving my research skills as I have found it much easier to evaluate sources now. However, I think that my time management skills have developed differently to how I originally expected, as I didn't set a timescale (to avoid creating unrealistic goals). This has helped me in a sense as I have kept a diary of progress and can clearly see the research I have completed. I also feel that I have completed my other aims of studying a topic relevant for university and a topic involving other countries because this debate has already taught me so much about the cultural and political history of Spain.  The next steps are to look into a counter argument of bullfighting and perhaps find some more specific facts about the inco...
